Used vs. limit

Record what is used—not just what is available.

Intercom has no universal byte-storage meter. Use conversation and ticket counts, contacts, reporting history, and attachment scope.

Historical coverage

Storage size does not equal record age.

Report and export availability depends on dataset and plan. Some export paths provide up to two years of history.

Troubleshooting

Common reasons your screen may differ.

History is limited+

Keep the exact window and do not extrapolate it to lifetime volume.

Reports are hidden+

Ask an administrator for aggregate totals rather than broader Inbox access.

Later-stage process

Prepare or export data only after authorization.

Intercom dataset export

Intercom supports report CSVs and approved conversation exports; metadata is not the same as transcripts.

Permissions and safeguardsObtain report and CSV permissions and define datasets, attributes, time range, and whether full content is needed.
