Used vs. limit

Record what is used—not just what is available.

Shopify has no single valuation-ready byte meter. Use complete record counts, order history, product media, files, and app data.

Historical coverage

Storage size does not equal record age.

Order reports cover selected periods while products and customers describe the current store. Apps may hold data outside Shopify.

Troubleshooting

Common reasons your screen may differ.

Reports have a short range+

Use Orders with date filters and record that method.

An app is business-critical+

Confirm whether its data lives in Shopify or the app provider.

Later-stage process

Prepare or export data only after authorization.

Shopify resource exports

Shopify exports records by resource type and does not automatically include every theme, file, app, or transaction detail.

Permissions and safeguardsObtain owner approval and define orders, customers, products, inventory, files, themes, and app scope.
1. Orders, Products, or Customers2. Apply approved filters3. Export

Typical output: CSV for core records; themes, files, reports, and app data use separate workflows.
