Used vs. limit

Record what is used—not just what is available.

Zendesk separates data storage, file storage, and external-content storage. Record current use and limit for each.

Historical coverage

Storage size does not equal record age.

The dashboard offers historical charts from the point Zendesk began collecting metrics. Archived tickets count; deleted tickets do not.

Troubleshooting

Common reasons your screen may differ.

Storage dashboard is unavailable+

Use ticket counts and file inventory and label storage as unavailable.

Custom objects are material+

Record their count separately because they add to data storage.

Later-stage process

Prepare or export data only after authorization.

Zendesk account export

Exports may be disabled by default and can require the account owner to contact Zendesk support.

Permissions and safeguardsObtain owner and admin approval, enable export if required, and define ticket, user, organization, date, and attachment scope.
